Chris and I went on a little adventure for his birthday, and it rocked. It started with Joe T. Garicia's and many, many plates. Chris had never had it before, and it was time! We got there right when it opened at 11, and it was perfect.

We also hit up the Fort Worth zoo (it's the fifth best zoo in the nation!). I couldn't believe how lush and green it was. Flowers and foliage everywhere. And even in the peak of summer, right after lunch, it wasn't too crowded. Win!

After checking into our hotel, we went to dinner at The Woodshed. We had heard such great things, and were pumped to try it out. We met up with family and friends and ate SO MUCH. So worth it.

Since we were going with a group on a Friday night, we decided to go early. We went at 5:30, sat at the riverside bar for an hour while we waited for our table (dangerous), and the live band started playing right when we started ordering. We loved it.

We also decided we need our future backyard to look like The Woodshed. I feel pretty certain that everyone that visits there says the same. Am I right?

We splurged and stayed at the Omni, and it was such a fun treat. I loved seeing Chris's face when we pulled up to the hotel and I told him we were staying there!

Fort Worth is only an hour away from us, but it felt like a totally different world. Such a great escape! We will definitely be doing this one again soon.
