I Can't Live Without You

The Best Basics | That's Pretty Ace

A few weeks ago, I wrote about how I am trying my best to have my closet hold mostly great classic pieces. I've realized that there's a few items that I come back to time and time again - not because they "make" the outfit, but because they're a great foundation. (^ that black cotton dress would make a great addition to my closet!)

J. Crew Pixie Pant | That's Pretty Ace

J. Crew's Pixie Pant - these are the ultimate legging. Thicker than the pair you'd normally buy, the pixie pant is perfect for chilly days or for days when you don't quite feel comfortable wearing leggings-as-pants. Very stretchy (and very forgiving), the pixie pant has a thick elastic waistband, a cute zipper in the back, and an ankle crop. Very Kate M. ;)

Ann Taylor Cotton Tank | That's Pretty Ace

Ann Taylor Cotton Tanks - I've looked high and low for a great tank, and finally found a solid friend in Ann Taylor's. I'm a bit on the chesty side, and I want my tanks to have thicker straps and a higher neckline than most. I also want it to fit close to my body, but still be loose enough to be comfortable. I have two of these in black, but should get one in every color! I think Ann's tanks would make a perfect summer top for most girls, and they look great under... well, everything you need something under.

Speaking of chesty... I have a special place in my heart for good undergarments. Men, stop reading here (unless you want to buy something special for your lady)!

Natori has been so good to me. Made by women, for women, Natori's brand of undergarments are made to both support and flatter. I wear a D cup, and it can be hard to find something that gives me the support and coverage I need without adding extra bulk. The Dimensions bra is my very favorite, but is discontinued and there aren't many left out there. I love the fact that it's very thin (no extra padding under my shirt), has a lining along the bottom (adding extra support), and it has a sheer panel across the top, giving me the full coverage I'm looking for while also remaining very flattering. I've tried on most of the bras Natori makes, and have loved all of them (makes it difficult to pick one when shopping!).

So what about you? Do you have any particular staple pieces that you love?
