Stop & Celebrate

That's Pretty Ace

The month of August is coming crazy hard and fast for me - tons of projects and social events lined up, and even a vacation (I might pee my pants, I'm so excited)! I spent my last "free" evening for the next few weeks with my hubs at one of our favorite restaurants and I got to thinking... I really should just stop and give God praise for all that He's doing before I just let it blow me by. Do you ever feel this way? It's so easy for summer to slip through my hands with how many events we end up attending, and fall has become such a welcome time of reflection and quiet (though summer, you'll always be my fav). And even if you feel like this summer hasn't been so great... taking time to reflect on the goodness that has happened or the things you're grateful for can really change your perspective. So I've made a list for me to keep track of the Good Things in my Trello and I'd encourage you to do the same! You could even use this "Answered Prayers" sheet to make your list :) In general, here are some things I'm looking forward to this month:

  • Time re-connecting and catching up with old friends
  • Hosting a 31bits party with my sweet mom
  • Creating fun designs and websites for friends new and old
  • Traveling to California to see where Chris spent his childhood (and see our dear friends get married!!)
  • Having time to read a few of my 12 in 12 while on vacation
  • Spending more intentional time praying with Chris
  • More Ruby photo shoots!
  • Training for my first half marathon (yikes!)
  • Visiting with my amazing college girl friends for Labor Day

Anything by Jennie Allen

To further share the joy, I'd love to give one of you one of my favorite things from this month - a copy of "Anything" by Jennie Allen! In this book, Jennie explains that we're all chasing something... Safety. Comfort. Happiness. Our hearts were made to run hard and fast after things that move us. But as a generation we are all beginning to stir and wake up, identifying that these words don't satisfy for long, especially when compared to God. She asks the question, "If God is real, and we are going to live with Him forever, shouldn't He be everything?" I'm so excited to read this one on our vacation (and the topic is so timely for me!).

It's super easy to win. Just leave a comment on this post about anything - not the book, but anything going on in your life or anything you'd like to share! :) I'll announce a winner on Monday! Hope you all have fun making your "answered prayers" lists!

GIVEAWAY CLOSED: Leah Mancl is our winner! The book is headed your way, dear!
